Mai Khao Beach
About 11 km of sand north of the airport, quiet and lightly built-up. Waves are strong from May to October, so check the flags before swimming.
Sirinat National Park (Nai Yang Beach)
The park office is at Nai Yang Beach just south of the runway, with shady casuarina trees and local seafood restaurants. Check the park entry fee before you go.
Plane-spotting at Mai Khao
The end of the runway meets the beach and planes pass low overhead—a popular photo spot. Stay out of restricted areas and away from jet blast.
Old Sarasin Bridge
At the island's northern tip, the old Sarasin Bridge is now a footbridge with views; cars use the Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Si Sunthon bridges beside it.
Wat Mai Khao
The local temple of Mai Khao near Thepkasattri Road. A stop can be added if you tell us in advance; please dress modestly in the temple grounds.
The closest beach to the airport
Mai Khao borders Phuket Airport, so you reach your resort about 15–25 minutes after leaving the terminal—handy for late arrivals and very early flights.

Most Mai Khao resorts sit at the end of side roads off Thepkasattri Road. The driver takes you to the lobby—just give us the exact resort or villa name.

For a hotel in Phuket, send the hotel name and we confirm the time and fare.

Should we choose the Commuter or the Alphard?
Choose the Commuter (9–13 seats) for 7 or more people or lots of large luggage; choose the Alphard (6–7 captain seats) for up to 6 people who want extra comfort—it has less luggage space.
