Maeklong Railway Market, Samut Songkhram

A fresh market that trades directly on a live railway track — vendors fold their awnings away seconds before the train slides through. Trains pass roughly eight times a day; 08:30, 11:10, 14:30 and 15:30 are the easiest to catch. Only 10–15 minutes off Rama II Road.

Amphawa Floating Market

Open Friday to Sunday, afternoon into the evening. Grilled seafood served from canal-side boats, and long-tail boat trips to watch fireflies after dark. On weekdays it is very quiet, so save it for a weekend run.

Phra Nakhon Khiri (Khao Wang), Phetchaburi

A hilltop royal palace overlooking Phetchaburi town, reached by cable car. Great panorama, and the town below is famous for palm-sugar custard sweets if you want something to take with you.

Mrigadayavan Palace, Cha-am

King Rama VI's golden teak summer palace built on stilts beside the sea, designed so the breeze flows through every room. Open Friday to Sunday, 09:00–17:00, around ฿90 for adults. Modest dress required. Roughly 20 minutes before Hua Hin.

Hua Hin Railway Station

The red-and-white royal waiting pavilion is the town's signature photo spot and sits right in the centre, an easy walk from the night market for dinner afterwards.

Khao Takiab & Cicada Market

At the southern end of Hua Hin beach, Khao Takiab hill has a temple and bay views (keep a grip on your bags — the monkeys are bold). Nearby Cicada Market runs Friday to Sunday from 16:00 with craft stalls, food and live music.

Travel tips for this route

To reach Hua Hin before lunch, leave Bangkok before 06:30 or wait until after 10:00. Between 07:00 and 09:00 both the inner-city expressway and the southbound Rama II Road are at their worst — leaving half an hour earlier often saves a full hour.
Friday afternoons and the eve of any long weekend are the heaviest times on this route; a Friday-morning or Saturday-morning departure is far smoother. Coming back, Sunday between roughly 15:00 and 20:00 is the peak, so aim to leave Hua Hin before 14:00 or after 20:00.
Rama II Road still has roadworks for the new M82 elevated motorway. The Bang Khun Thian–Ekachai section is already open to traffic, while the Ekachai–Ban Phaeo section is scheduled by the Department of Highways to open around August 2026. Until then, budget an extra 30–45 minutes, especially if you have a flight or a booking to make.
Seasons: November to February is the sweet spot — dry, breezy and comfortable. March to May gets genuinely hot, so plan sightseeing for the morning and late afternoon. September and October are the wettest months of the year (October most of all), but crowds thin out and hotel rates drop, and the rain usually falls in short bursts rather than all day.

Yes — it is a private charter, so the vehicle is yours for the journey. Common stops are the Maeklong Railway Market, Amphawa Floating Market, Khao Wang in Phetchaburi and Mrigadayavan Palace. Mention them when you book so we can plan the timing; short breaks for restrooms or snacks you can simply ask the driver for.

Is a Bangkok–Hua Hin day trip realistic?

It works if you start early. Leaving around 06:00 puts you in Hua Hin by about 09:00, giving you a full day, and heading back before 18:00 keeps you ahead of the traffic returning to Bangkok. This is charged as two trips — send us your outbound and return times and we will schedule the driver around them.

We are staying several nights. How is that priced, and where does the driver stay?

If you only need the transfer down and the transfer back on set dates, that is simply two trips and the van does not wait in Hua Hin.
