At 850 km and twelve to fourteen hours this is the longest route we operate. It must be planned across two days with a night in Chumphon or Surat Thani — we do not accept straight-through bookings, as they exceed safe driving limits.
Always compare with airfares. Bangkok to Phuket flies in about an hour and twenty minutes and budget tickets are usually far cheaper. A van makes sense mainly for heavy cargo, relocations, or when you want transport throughout the stay.
The Andaman monsoon runs May to October, with rough seas and red flags on some beaches. Always respect the flags — rip currents are the most common cause of accidents in Phuket.
Many roads on the island are steeply graded with sharp bends, especially towards Kata, Karon and Patong. Use a driver who knows the island rather than driving yourself if you are unfamiliar.
