Nong Khai to Bangkok Van Charter from ฿10,400

A private van with driver from Nong Khai back to Bangkok costs ฿10,400 per trip for a Toyota Commuter and ฿17,500 per trip for a Toyota Alphard. That is the charter price per vehicle one way, not per person, and it covers the driver, fuel, expressway tolls and bottled water on board. The fare table distance is 616 km and the drive takes about 8 to 10 hours including rest stops, depending on the pickup point and traffic. The way back follows Route 2, the Friendship Highway, through Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima into Saraburi before Bangkok. We pick up at the hotels and guesthouses in Nong Khai town, and at the Thai side of the border checkpoint if you have just crossed from Vientiane. We drop at any home, condo or hotel in Bangkok, or at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports for the same price. If you are catching a flight, send the flight number and departure time so we can work out when to leave Nong Khai and still leave room for check-in. On travel day you tap the button to say you are at the pickup point on your trip page, the driver comes to where you are standing and confirms with your 4-digit pickup code. A 50% deposit confirms the van and the balance is paid on the travel day. Book on LINE @kingtocar or call 084-709-3719.

Wat Pho Chai

Wat Pho Chai

A temple in town housing Luang Pho Phra Sai, Nong Khai's revered Buddha image. It is near the hotels, so it works as a short stop before departure. Dress modestly and check the opening hours before you go.

Sala Kaew Ku

Sala Kaew Ku

A large park of religious sculptures about 7 km from Nong Khai town, with about an hour of walking, so the morning before departure suits it best. Check the admission fee and opening hours before you go.

Phra That Klang Nam (Phra That La Nong)

A stupa that sank into the Mekong, best seen when the water is low, with a viewing point on the town embankment — a ten-minute look before you set off.

Why book this route with us

084-709-3719

The way back costs the same ฿10,400

A Toyota Commuter is ฿10,400 per trip and a Toyota Alphard ฿17,500 per trip. That is the charter price per vehicle, including driver, fuel, expressway tolls and bottled water. The return into Bangkok uses the same fare table as the outbound leg, with no surcharge for travelling back.

Pickup at your hotel door in Nong Khai

The driver waits outside your hotel or guesthouse at the agreed time and your bags go straight in, instead of hauling them to the bus terminal or the railway station and travelling on someone else's timetable. If your place is down a narrow lane, send a Google Maps pin when you book.

We can meet you at the Thai side of the border

If you have just crossed the Friendship Bridge back from Vientiane, we can meet you at the Nong Khai checkpoint on the Thai side once you are through immigration. Our van does not cross into Laos. Tell us when you expect to clear the border and allow at least an hour for it.

Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang for the same price

We drop at the departures terminal of either airport for the same fare as a home or hotel in Bangkok. Send your flight number and departure time when you book and we will work out the departure time from Nong Khai, allowing for the 616 km and for check-in.

Stop in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen or Korat on the way

All three cities sit on the Friendship Highway, so a meal, a toilet break or a souvenir stop costs almost no detour. Mention it when you book so the driver can allow the time. For several stops or a long wait we will quote the hourly charter instead so you can compare before confirming.

A van sized for your group and luggage

The Toyota Commuter has 9–13 seats and suits larger groups, plenty of bags and boxes of souvenirs. The Toyota Alphard has 6–7 reclining captain seats, which is more comfortable over 616 km and suits families travelling with older relatives.

Travel tips for this route

  1. The 616 km drive takes about 8 to 10 hours including rest stops, so leave Nong Khai before 9am if you have an appointment or an evening flight in Bangkok.
  2. For a connection at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, send the flight number and departure time when you book; we set the pickup so you reach the airport before check-in closes, with room for city traffic.
  3. If you have just crossed back from Vientiane, check the border checkpoint opening hours before fixing a pickup time, bring your passport or border pass, and allow at least an hour to clear it, because our van does not cross into Laos.
  4. Sunday evenings and the end of long weekends are heavier coming into Bangkok; allow 1 to 2 extra hours or leave Nong Khai earlier in the day.
  5. Travelling with lots of souvenirs such as woven cotton or local sausage? Tell us the number of bags and boxes when you book so we can confirm there is room.
  6. With small children, give every child's age when you book: under 4 needs a child seat, 4 to 12 a booster, and each rents at ฿300 per booking.
  7. To split the drive over two days, or to add the Red Lotus Sea or another place off the road home, say so before booking, because it needs extra time and is quoted as an hourly charter; an overnight adds ฿500 per night for the driver's room.
  8. Check admission fees and opening hours again before you visit any stop, as some change with the season.

What's included

  • Fuel + expressway and motorway tolls
  • Chilled water on board · child seat on request

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is a private van from Nong Khai to Bangkok?

A Toyota Commuter is ฿10,400 per trip and a Toyota Alphard ฿17,500 per trip. That is the charter price per vehicle one way, not per person, and it covers the driver, fuel, expressway tolls and bottled water.

How far is Bangkok from Nong Khai and how long does the drive take?

The fare table distance is 616 km and the drive takes about 8 to 10 hours including rest stops, depending on the pickup point and traffic. The road follows the Friendship Highway past Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima and Saraburi, and the end of a long weekend can take longer.

Where can you pick us up in Nong Khai?

We pick up at your hotel or guesthouse in Nong Khai town, or at any other address in the town district, and the driver comes to the spot you give. Send a map pin for the place when you book so the driver finds it. If you are staying outside the town district, send the name of the place when you book so we can confirm the fare first.

Can you drop us at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang airport?

Yes, at the departures terminal of either airport, for the same ฿10,400 per vehicle as a home, condo or hotel in Bangkok. Send your flight time when you book so the departure time from Nong Khai is set to reach the terminal before check-in closes.

What is included in the fare and what is charged separately?

Included: the whole vehicle with driver, fuel, expressway tolls and bottled water on board. Charged separately: meals, accommodation, admission fees, a child seat or booster at ฿300 each per booking, and waiting time beyond the hours agreed, at ฿600 per hour for a Commuter or ฿1,300 per hour for an Alphard.

Should we take the Commuter or the Alphard for the drive back?

Take the Commuter at ฿10,400 if you are 7 or more, or if you have a lot of bags and souvenirs: it seats up to 9 with 8 large bags, or 12 with 3 bags. Take the Alphard at ฿17,500 if you are 6 or fewer and want the reclining captain seats, which are easier on a long drive and suit older travellers.

Is the way back the same price as Bangkok to Nong Khai?

Yes. Both directions come from the same fare table: ฿10,400 for a Toyota Commuter and ฿17,500 for a Toyota Alphard per vehicle, one way. You can book the two legs together or separately; if you book both, send the dates and times for each and we will confirm the combined total before you pay.

We have just crossed back from Vientiane — can you meet us at the border?

Yes. We meet you at the Nong Khai checkpoint on the Thai side once you are through immigration. Our van does not cross the bridge into Laos, and the fare does not cover border fees or the shuttle across the bridge. Check the checkpoint opening hours before fixing a pickup time, bring your passport or border pass, and allow at least an hour to clear it.

How do we book the van back to Bangkok, and what deposit is needed?

The deposit is 50% of the fare, with the balance paid on the travel day. To book, send your date and time, the pickup address in Nong Khai, your destination in Bangkok, the number of passengers and the number of bags on LINE @kingtocar or call 084-709-3719. The team then creates the booking and sends you the booking number and the booking page on our website. Cancel at least 3 days before travel for a full refund of the deposit.

Can we stop on the way back to Bangkok?

Yes. Places on the Friendship Highway such as Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima are short stops with almost no detour; mention them when you book so the driver can allow the time. For several stops, a day of sightseeing or a long wait, the team will quote the hourly charter so you can compare before confirming.
