Market

Kim Yong Market, Hat Yai

The old market in central Hat Yai, selling dried goods, snacks and imported products. Pick up gifts before you set off — it all fits in the van. Check opening hours before you go.

Sadao and Dannok crossings, Thai side

Sadao and Dannok crossings, Thai side

The pickup point for travellers coming up from Malaysia. The van waits on the Thai side only and does not cross the border. Check with the checkpoint that it is open and what its hours are before travelling, then tell us roughly when you expect to cross.

Songkhla old town and Samila Beach

Songkhla old town and Samila Beach

About 30 km from Hat Yai. Nakhon Nok and Nakhon Nai roads are lined with old shophouses, restaurants and cafes, and Samila Beach has the golden mermaid statue. Mention it at booking if you want to stop before heading north.

Phatthalung town and Khao Ok Thalu

Phatthalung town and Khao Ok Thalu

The limestone hill in the middle of Phatthalung town is the province's landmark, and it sits beside the first stretch of the drive. Allow 30–45 minutes for photos or a bite to eat.

Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya, Surat Thani

Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya, Surat Thani

A Srivijaya-era stupa over a thousand years old, close to the main road at Chaiya. Dress modestly, and check the entry fee and opening hours before you go.

Chumphon town

Chumphon town

The usual meal break around the middle of the drive, with restaurants and fuel stations along Highway 4. It is also a convenient overnight stop if you split the journey over two days.

Hua Hin and Phetchaburi

Hua Hin and Phetchaburi

The last stretch before Bangkok, good for a meal or for Phetchaburi's khanom mo kaeng custard. On Sunday evenings and long weekends the roads into Bangkok are busy, so allow extra time.

Why book this route with us

084-709-3719

Hotel, airport or railway station pickup

Give us your hotel name, arriving flight or train, and the driver will be waiting at that time. Hat Yai International Airport is about 10–12 km from the city centre, a short run into town.

Pickup on the Thai side of Sadao and Dannok

Coming up from Malaysia, the van waits on the Thai side of the crossing; it does not cross the border to collect you. Check with the checkpoint that it is open and what its hours are before you travel, and tell us roughly when you expect to cross.

Same fare as the trip south

Commuter ฿19,400 and Alphard ฿39,400 per vehicle, one way, with driver, fuel, tolls and water — the same as Bangkok to Hat Yai, because our vans are based in the area.

Room for everything you bought in Hat Yai

Snacks and dry goods from Kim Yong Market plus large suitcases all come along, with no baggage fees or weight limits to think about. A Commuter takes roughly 8–10 large cases.

Door to door, or straight to departures

No bus terminal and no second taxi at the end of a long day. If you have an onward flight from Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang, send the flight time at booking so we set off early enough for check-in.

Split the drive over two days

It is close to 1,000 km, so with children or older travellers you can overnight in Chumphon or Hua Hin. Driver accommodation is ฿500 per night; mention it at booking so we plan the timing.
