Why book this route with us

084-709-3719

The great Reclining Buddha

The reclining Buddha is about 46 m long and is the sight most visitors come for.

A flat fare per vehicle

฿1,500 for a Commuter or ฿3,500 for an Alphard, including driver, fuel, tolls and confirmed parking, priced per vehicle rather than per person.

Add the Grand Palace and Wat Arun

All three are close together, with the Tha Tien ferry to Wat Arun; an hourly charter suits the combination.

Thai massage at the temple

Wat Pho is a centre of traditional Thai massage; check the queue and prices at the massage pavilion.

Drop-off near the entrance

The driver uses the closest accessible point to the entrance for the day's traffic and agrees the return pickup first.

Good for families and older travellers

Less walking in the sun between hotel and temple; the Alphard is quiet, the Commuter suits larger groups.

Travel tips for this route

  1. Cover shoulders and knees, and remove shoes before entering the Reclining Buddha hall.
  2. Mornings are cooler and quieter; if you also visit the Grand Palace, start there first.
  3. Save the pickup pin your driver sends, because vehicles cannot wait at the temple gate for long.
  4. Bring water and a hat; the grounds are large and mostly in the sun.
  5. Buy tickets only at the temple's own counter and check opening hours before leaving the hotel.
  6. For Wat Pho, the Grand Palace and Wat Arun in one day, a 4–6 hour charter avoids rushing.

What's included

  • Professional driver who knows the route
  • Fuel + expressway and motorway tolls
  • Chilled water on board · child seat on request
  • Parking fees everywhere · light snacks on board
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is a private van from a Bangkok hotel to Wat Pho?

The one-way fare is THB 1,500 for a Toyota Commuter or THB 3,500 for a Toyota Alphard per vehicle, including driver, fuel, tolls and confirmed parking.

How much is it from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Wat Pho?

THB 1,500 one way for a Commuter or THB 3,500 for an Alphard per vehicle, the same as a city ride. From Suvarnabhumi it is about 35–40 km, usually 45–75 minutes.

How long is the drive to Wat Pho?

About 12–15 km from Sukhumvit or Siam, usually 30–60 minutes; rush hour and ceremonies can make it longer.

Can the van drop us at the Wat Pho entrance?

Usually yes, at the closest point vehicles can reach, depending on traffic and road closures that day. The return pickup point is agreed before you get out.

Does the fare include Wat Pho admission?

No. It covers the private vehicle with driver, fuel, tolls and planned parking. Admission, massage and meals are paid separately.

How do I book and how much is the deposit?

The deposit is 50%. Book on LINE @kingtocar, on the website or by calling 084-709-3719; the deposit confirms the vehicle, the balance is paid on the day of travel, and cancelling at least 3 days ahead returns the full deposit.

Should we choose a Commuter or an Alphard?

Choose the Commuter (9–13 seats) for 7 or more people or a lot of luggage, and the Alphard (6–7 seats) for 2–5 people who want a quieter, more comfortable ride. Not sure? Send your group size and bags on LINE and we will suggest one.

Is the return from Wat Pho the same price?

Yes. The ride back to a Bangkok hotel or the airport costs the same. To add the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, choose an hourly charter from 3 hours: THB 2,400 for a Commuter or THB 6,000 for an Alphard.

On a full-day charter, what if we go over the time or distance?

If the van and driver stay with your group all day (same-day return or sightseeing stops), packages start at 3 hours · 90 km (Commuter ฿2,400 / Alphard ฿6,000). Extra time is ฿600 per hour for the Commuter or ฿1,300 per hour for the Alphard, and extra distance is ฿25/km (Commuter) or ฿45/km (Alphard). Entrance tickets are extra, and if you add stops or change plans along the way, we always tell you the price difference first. One-way transfers (Commuter ฿1,500 / Alphard ฿3,500) are a fixed fare with no extra time or distance charges.
