Bangsaen Beach

A 2.5 km stretch of sand lined with seafood restaurants and deck chairs for rent. Weekends are very busy, so arriving before 10am secures both parking and a decent spot on the sand.

Nong Mon Market

Chonburi's best-known souvenir market for khao lam bamboo rice, dried shrimp, dried squid and palm sweets. It sits on Sukhumvit before Bangsaen and is an easy stop on the way home, though weekend evenings get crowded.

Khao Sam Muk

A viewpoint over the whole Bangsaen bay with a Chinese shrine and a resident monkey troop — keep food and sunglasses out of sight when you step out. Late afternoon gives the best sunset.

Ang Sila

An old fishing village famous for granite mortars and fresh seafood, with a fish market and reasonably priced restaurants. It is around 10 minutes from Bangsaen and makes a good lunch stop.

Burapha University

Right beside Bangsaen beach, with an Institute of Marine Science and public aquarium that work well for families and school trips. Parking is generous and access is straightforward.

Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate

A very large estate at Bang Na–Trat km 57 with hundreds of factories. Entry passes a checkpoint, so give the driver the host company name and an internal contact number in advance.

Travel tips for this route

Motorway 7 outbound is worst on Friday evening and Saturday morning, while the return jams from Sunday afternoon into the evening. Leaving early or heading back before 2pm can save a full hour.
Bangsaen has a pronounced tide. If swimming is the point of the trip, check the tide table — at low water the beach widens and the sea stays shallow a long way out, which is great for toddlers but poor for swimming.
Nong Mon market is easier on the way home because it sits on the Bangkok-bound side, and your fresh purchases do not sit in the van all day. Just tell the driver at the start of the trip.
On long weekends and Songkran, beachfront parking at Bangsaen fills by morning. A chartered van helps a lot: you are dropped at the sand while the driver parks elsewhere and waits.
