Travel tips for this route

On weekends and Buddhist holy days, Wat Sothon is packed from 9am. Leaving Bangkok at 6am means arriving while it is still quiet and cool.
Taking Motorway 7 and exiting toward Chachoengsao is much faster than the Bang Na–Trat road, especially on Saturday mornings. Tolls are already inside your flat rate.
Ban Mai hundred-year market is only fully open at weekends; midweek many shops are shut. Late morning to afternoon on a weekend gives the best atmosphere.
For a multi-temple route, book at least eight hours. Each temple takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour, and with driving between them that timing leaves you unrushed.
